Pilates Student Testimonials“Five months ago I came to live in Austin. At that time I was using a cane to walk because of the onset of arthritis in my left knee. Over a period of time the need to protect my left knee had caused me to overcompensate in other parts of my body, with the result that my body was seriously out of alignment and I was beginning to experience discomfort in other parts of my body. I had visited various doctors over a period of time, with differing results – it was recommended that I take pain killers and learn to adjust to living with the arthritis. I decided to enroll in a Pilates program at the JoyMoves Pilates Studio and found an environment where they understood what was happening. A combined program of private lessons and the pilates reformer classes during the past five months has helped to strengthen my core, which in turn has helped to strengthen and realign the other parts of my body which had been affected by my over compensating for my knee.
